Introduced and referred to committee on House Select Committee on Voter ID and Fraud (2/16/11)
(Harris County) February 1, 2011, 8:19 am
This bill allows picture IDs from schools and gov't entities...furthermore it allows the use of TDL or ID that has expired within one year. With voter turnout lower than that of trends with American Idol or Dancing With the Stars, we don't need more uneccesary restrictions on voting. If the issue is with voter fraud, the easiest loophole to go through would deal with the mail-in ballot process. I'm still waiting on my TDL from DPS btw!!!

The bill also creates a whole new ID card system, which would be a permissible ID in addition to other types of ID such as university ID cards.

This bill does not require proof of citizenship before obtaining the Voter ID Card and it also leaves in place student picture IDs from schools to be a valid form of ID (something that many illegal aliens have).
